Sachin-Kambli record eclipsed
Two under-13 batsmen, Mohammad Shahbaz Tumbi and B Manoj Kumar, put together an unbeaten world record partnership of 721 runs in a one-day match conducted by the Hyderabad Cricket Association.
The partnership resulted in a 700-run win for St Peter's High School, Bowenpally, as their opponents, St Philip's High School, were bowled out for a measly 21.
The partnership is the highest in any class of cricket, surpassing Vinod Kambli and Sachin Tendulkar's unbeaten stand of 664 in 1987-88 for Shardashram.
Batting first in the under-13 knockout game of the Brother John of God Trophy, Tumbi hit an unbeaten 324 while Kumar smashed 320. Later, Akram took 7 for 11 and Hussein 2 for 10 to ensure victory.
The total is set to become a world record, with the previous highest team score in a limited overs game being 630 for 5 in a 45-over match between the first elevens of the United Cricket Club and Bay Area Cricket Club in the Northern California league on August 27, 2006
