A Couple´s Heartbreak

A Couple's Heartbreak

A boy was born to a couple after eleven years of marriage. They were a loving couple and the boy was the apple of their eyes. When the boy was around two years old, one morning the husband saw a medicine bottle open. He was late for work so he asked the wife to cap the bottle and keep it in the cupboard. The mother, preoccupied in the kitchen, totally forgot the matter.

The boy saw the bottle and playfully went to the bottle and, fascinated with its color, drank it all. It happened to be a poisonous medicine meant for adults in small dosages. When the child collapsed, the mother hurried him to the hospital, where he died. The mother was stunned. She was terrified how to face her husband.

When the distraught father came to the hospital and saw the dead child, he looked at his wife and uttered just four words.

What do you think were the four words?

The husband just said "I Love You Darling"

The husband's totally unexpected reaction is proactive behavior. The child is dead. He can never be brought back to life. There is no point in finding fault with the mother. Besides, if only he have taken time to keep the bottle away, this will not have happened. No
point in attaching blame. She had also lost her only child. What she needed at that moment was consolation and sympathy from the husband. That is what he gave her.

Sometimes we spend time asking who is responsible or who to blame, whether in a relationship, in a job or with the people we know. We miss out some warmth in human relationship in giving each other support. After all, shouldn't forgiving someone we love be the easiest thing in the world to do? Treasure what you have. Don't multiply pain, anguish and suffering by holding on to forgiveness.

If everyone can look at life with this kind of perspective, there would be much fewer problems in the world.

Take off all your envies, jealousies, unwillingness to forgive, selfishness, and fears and you will find things are actually not as difficult as you think.

Britney Spears wants her visitation back

Britney Spears wants her visitation back

Britney Spears' lawyers will make a request tomorrow for Britney to have "monitored visitation in a therapeutic setting." Britney's family and friends apparently are successfully encouraging Britney to get mental health help for bipolar disorder in a "creative way." Britney has previously refused the judge's requests to undergo a 730 mental evaluation. If the judge agrees to Britney's current plan, it could prove troublesome for Kevin's lawyers, according to TMZ:

Evaluating bipolar disorder is a long process. If it's done pursuant to a 730 evaluation, the results are submitted to the court. If the Commish were to accept the alternative form of treatment, a doctor-patient privilege could prevent certain information from making its way to the court (unless the privilege is waived).

Here's the likely scenario based on what we're hearing: K-Fed (and probably the court) will not want Brit to bypass the 730 evaluation process. That could make it unlikely for Brit's lawyers to win a bid to regain visitation in a therapeutic setting.

I don't see the harm in letting Britney have the therapeutic visitation. But, if she starts speaking in a British accent, the shrink has the right to mace Britney in the mouth. Also the children alternate turns wearing a football helmet and brass knuckles to each visit. Or, wait, scratch all that. Is it legal to have a tiger in an office building? For arguments sake, let's say it's wearing a lab coat and stethoscope.

Choose to Enthuse!

Choose to Enthuse!

As I've been speaking around the country over the past year or so, I've often asked my audiences this question: "How many of you have way too much enthusiasm? You're seeing a psychiatrist for enthusiasm management therapy, and have a seatbelt on your bed to keep you from jumping out too fast in the morning and breaking a leg?" I get lots of laughs, but almost no one raises a hand.

Then I ask how many people would be happier, more productive, and more successful if they could consistently be more enthusiastic than they are now. Almost every hand in the room goes up (those who don't raise their hands are invited to attend my remedial class on honesty).

The good news, I tell them, is that scientists have shown that there is no enthusiasm gene. Enthusiasm is a choice. You decide every morning whether or not you're going to have a good day. You can't decide what happens to you, but you can decide whether you react to it enthusiastically.

Choosing enthusiasm is the triple crown of attitude. Your organization wins because enthusiasm is the added "spark" that puts the smile into customer service. Your family, friends and coworkers win because enthusiasm is contagious, and you're helping them to be happier and more productive.

And, of course, you win because people with a lot of enthusiasm have a lot of life, and people without enthusiasm don't. They're like the man who passed away but had his life insurance denied, because since he'd never really lived, he couldn't have really died.

Energy is the fuel for enthusiasm - it's hard to be enthusiastic when you're physically out of gas. And here again, there's good news: more than we care to admit to ourselves, whether or not we have energy is also a choice.

And here's more good news: human energy is the ultimately renewable resource. The more you use it, the more of it you have.

Shilpa Shetty loses out to RajinikanthAt a glittering ceremony for the 'NDTV Indian of the Year' awards held at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi, actress Shilpa Shetty missed winning the award, while Rajnikanth, another star hailing from the South, bagged it.

In the year gone by, Rajnikanth achieved huge popularity with his superbly-scripted character in the film 'Sivaji – The Boss'. On the other hand, Shilpa Shetty received worldwide recognition for the dignity with which she stood up against racial discrimination onslaughts in the British reality show 'Celebrity Big Brother'. This not only made the actress a household name and an icon in the United Kingdom, but brought immense pride for our country, propelling her as an ambassador of equality across the globe.

"Shilpa has only been an achiever, while Rajnikanth has been a great performer," commented the actresses' publicist Dale Bhagwagar on her losing out to the award. "Shilpa has emerged the most famous Indian in the UK. Hopefully, India will reward her for this accomplishment in future," he added.

Apart from Shilpa and Rajnikanth, other nominations in the entertainment category of the 'NDTV Indian of the Year' awards, included Shah Rukh Khan (who was given a 'special award') and Himesh Reshammiya.

The jury comprised former BBC correspondent Sir Mark Tully, Kiran Karnik, Shobha De, Shekhar Gupta and former chairman of ISRO Dr K.Kasturirangan, among others.

What Britney Spears did next

What Britney Spears did next

Britney Spears arrives at the courthouse with her boyfriend Adnan Ghalib.
Britney Spears arrives at the courthouse with her boyfriend Adnan Ghalib.

A Los Angeles judge is keeping in effect an order suspending Britney Spears' right to visit her two sons and keeping them in ex-husband Kevin Federline's custody.

Today's ruling came after a full day of testimony on a bizarre incident earlier this month in which police had Spears taken to a hospital after a standoff in her home when she refused to return the children to Federline's bodyguard after a visit.

Another hearing was set for February 19.

Spears came to the courthouse briefly this afternoon but never went inside.
She left in a swarm of paparazzi.

The hearing was held behind closed doors after reporters were ordered to leave.

Court spokesman Allan Parachini did not reveal what the witnesses to the incident said during their testimony.

Federline, sporting a mohawk-style haircut, was present with his lawyer when the hearing began, but Spears was nowhere to be seen until early afternoon - and then only for a few frenzied minutes.

An SUV brought her into a downtown garage but only her lawyers got out before the vehicle left.

It later stopped outside the courthouse, where Spears got out of a passenger seat and took over the driver's seat.

It was not clear in the crush of photographers whether she or a companion was at the wheel when it left.

Television footage showed Spears' vehicle driving away pursued by paparazzi before the troubled pop singer stopped by at a church for several minutes.

Her attendance at the hearing was not required but was considered by lawyers to be important if she is to regain the right to visit her two little sons.

"I'm hopeful,'' one of her lawyers, Sorrell Trope, said earlier during a break when asked if his client would appear.

Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon scheduled today's hearing at the same time he issued a January 4 order suspending Spears' monitored visits with son Jayden James, aged one, and Sean Preston, aged two, and giving full legal and physical custody to Federline, who previously had temporary custody.

Gordon issued that order the day after police were called to Spears' home when she refused to return the children to Federline after a monitored visit and officers had paramedics haul the pop star off to a hospital for undisclosed reasons. She was released after a day and a half in Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre.

Reporters were only allowed into the courtroom for about a minute before Gordon said it would be a closed session.

During that time he granted a motion from Spears' lawyers to quash a subpoena, but there was no information given about what the subpoena involved or to whom it had been issued.

Family law court sessions routinely are held in secret, but the commissioner appeared to be gathering information on the incident to revisit his orders.

Court spokesman Allan Parachini said the morning session was taken up with testimony from a Los Angeles police officer who was one of the first to arrive at Spears' home on the night of January 3.

"He testified about his observations from when he responded to Ms Spears' house on that night,'' Parachini said without providing any of the details of the testimony.

Parachini said up to nine witnesses would be called in the hearing and it was not likely to end today.

Police officers monitoring the paparazzi outside the courthouse warned them to stay on the footpath, and several were issued citations by bicycle-mounted officers for being in the street.

John Abraham and Bipasha Basu breaking their relationship

John Abraham and Bipasha Basu breaking their relationship

Handsome John Abraham and sexy Asian Bipasha Basu have been dating each other for the last five years. This comes as a surprise to many who were spreading rumours that the hottest couple in Bollywood are in for a split.

The parents of both the stars recently met and the marriage between the two were discussed. Both John and Bips are very close to their families and thus they want them to do the talking. The couple have planned the engagement in January as both of them will get busy with their respective schedules.

A few months back Bipasha has sad that she will marry John after five years. The couple have acted in five movies together starting with Jism and Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal being their last release. Bipasha will be next seen Abbas-Mustaan's Race and John will be acting in Nagesh Kukunoor's Aashayein.

Both John Abraham and Bipasha Basu is breaking the relationship from Lovers to couples. New year, a fresh start. All the best Johnny, and Bips

New Year, new rates

New Year, new rates

It's that time of the year when everyone says 'Goodbye-Tata' to the year gone by and get all geared up to say Welcome to the New Year. In between the departure of the old year and the advent of New Year lies something the 'midnight' for which everyone waits with bated breath, to welcome the New Year with open arms. For the urban crowd, the New Year celebrations include shelling out money in some of the five starred mega structured hotels to see some of the 'dhinchaak' Bollywood heroines, live in flesh! But the flip side of the coin is that this money gets translated into a pot-full of moolah for these 'dhinchaak' heroines. And these pot-full goes to the tunes of anywhere between a few lakhs till crores, depending upon the 'Saleability Quotient' of the star.

We bring to you an insight of the star-charges and the places where you can go star-hunting (with the damages, of course!)

Topping this year's 'pricey-list' is none other than Bipasha Basu who will be performing at the JW Marriott, Juhu. She is reportedly said to be charging a staggering Rs 90 lakhs! The costs of the tickets are kept at Rs 11,500 per person (including taxes and food). BTW, who needs booze when the 'intoxicating' Bips is around! The saddest part of the story is that 'children' below 21 years are not allowed! Though some portion of the market says that the figures have just been exaggerated (and that the actual figures rest at Rs 72 lakhs), whereas the other portion of the market says that the figure quoted is lesser than what she is charging (and that the actual figures rest at a staggering Rs 1.23 crores)! Rumours have it that come what may, Bipasha cannot be a Mallika Sherawat as the latter's pull is far greater than the former. Last year, Mallika pulled off a show-stopper of a show with a price tag attached of Rs 50 lakhs for a half an hour performance!

However, it's not just Bipasha who will be joining you in welcoming the New Year. The Drama Queen Rakhi Sawant alongwith her 'all-in-one' boyfriend, Abhishek Awasthi, and DJ Whosane will also be performing on New Year"s Eve. You can find all of them performing at Tulip Star Hotel, Juhu. The charges here are Rs 7000 for a couple entry with unlimited food and drinks. But again, 'children' below 18 years are not allowed! Rakhi is reported to have charged the organizers a whopping Rs 51 lakhs for her performance! Rumors are also rife that Rakhi will make the most of this 'platform' to project her angst against the Star TV for their allegedly rigged voting system in 'Nach Baliye', where she and her boyfriend Abhishek lost to Saajida Sheikh and Aamir Ali.

Not far behind are Koena Mitra and Tanushree Dutta, who will be joined along with the songster Mika in Sahara Star, Mumbai. The rates of the tickets here are priced at Rs 20,000 for a couple and Rs 11,500 for singles. Koena is supposedly charging the organizers Rs 27 lakhs for her 16 minute performance whereas Tanushree Dutta has been signed for Rs 15 lakhs for her 24 minutes performance.

The next in row are an array of celebrities who will be India-trotting as a part of their New Year performance. They are none other than Amrita Arora (performing in Bangalore), Malaika Arora (performing in Delhi), Neha Dhupia (performing in Ahmedabad), Mahima Choudhary (performing in Kolkatta), and southern sensation Sada (performing in Chennai) with Udita Goswami (performing in Pune) and Rimi Sen (performing in Mumbai).

One of the event organizers (strictly on the condition of anonymity) said, "The charges of these stars are directly proportional to their popularity. Girls like Malaika Arora command easily upto Rs 25-30 lakhs which is almost the same like the southern bombshell Sada. Whereas Amrita Arora charges Rs 12 lakhs, Neha Dhupia charges anywhere between Rs 15-20 lakhs, Mahima Choudhary charges Rs 5 lakhs, Udita Goswami who used to charge Rs 15 lakhs for any performance now has reduced to Rs 5-8 lakhs.

With so much happening this New Year"s Eve, who wouldn't wanna be a 'sell-ebrity'!
