Shoaib Akhtar, Mohd Asif banned for doping.

Pakistan Cricket Board drugs tribunal banned Shoaib Akhtar for two years and Mohd. Asif for one year after finding their samples turned positive in the dope test. During the Champions trophy they were found guilty for using the performance enhancing drugs prior to their opening match between Srilanka and Pakistan in jaipur.

The Pakistan tribunal statement said that Shoaib Akhtar and Mohd. Asif had been informed about the decision and both have right to appeal. These bans will be effective from october 15, which makes both Shoaib Akhtar and Mohd. Asif out of world cup.

The Tribunal met coach Bob woolmer, Physiotherapist Darren Lifsun and trainer Murray Stevenson on wednesday to hear about their views before maing a final decision on Shoaib Aktar and Mohd. Asif.

Last friday hearing revealed that both players took performance enhancing drugs and accepted their dope results and decided not to challenge the result of their positive test for Nandrolone, carried out in a World Anti-Doping Agency laboratory in Kuala Lumpur.

Shoaib Aktar famously called as Rawalpindi Express was into lots of controvercies previously but this is the first time he is into a Dopeing controversy. On the other hand Mohd. Asif who maintained a very good bowling and batting too haven't got into any controvercies previously.
