What stops Indian cricket from being the best in the world

There are number of factors which is involved in this issue. But the core issue is that none cared about the exact problem which is stopping the team from performing well. The major factors which are stopping the team from being the best in the world are

Zonalisam

There is a heavy zonalism politics involved in a team selection. Each and every selector from respective zone try to push their favorites into the team. Be it North zone or south or weat or east there is zonal politics which is entering in the selection of the team. More over when a particular zone player is not performing well for a match immediately all other zone selectors starts to point their worngs and try to push that players morale.

Selection process

The main problem is the selection process which is happpening during any selection. The selectors are sitting in some AC Room and seeing the players performance in videos and selecting the players. I heared that there are some quota for selectors which they try to utilize it. I am not sure about it. As per me the selector (must have played atleast 200+ ODI Matches and atleast 75+ Test matches (not Innings) and must have done a vital role in the team during his time of play.

The selector must be in ground to analyse the performance of the team players which they are going to select. This will provide an oppurtunity for the youngsters to comeup into the squard just by displaying their ability in domestic matches. In pakistan most of the players are picked in this manner where selecters found good talents even in street cricket. But in our country the selectors sit in some unidentified hotel and select a team. This is where the zonalism is coming into picture.

Board Members

After 1983 world cup to my knowledge BCCI was not handled by a cricketer who played number of domestic and international matches. It is managed by people who don't know the ABCD of cricket. Politicians see that having a position in BCCI will get more money (in adv etc).

The board must be maintained by cricketers not by the politicians, drug lords etc. The board must look into the development of cricket and its players not the advertisement cost and rights for telecast. I am not saying not to provide these but it must not be the major place where the board must address. The Board must conduct reviews of each player who are contracted and find the flaws and errors irrespective of seniority and zone and experience. These findings must be published time to time and must ask its players to correct it. Give a chance, if it is not corrected go for the second step. These review committees must be of players who have complete knowledge of cricket and its departments. No politics and brotherhood must be involved here.

Cricket Players

In recent time Cricket players of Indian team is seen more in advertisement rather than in Nets and in game. If there is a two day's break then they are involved in the shooting of advertisement. The only cricketers who managed both advertisement and Game is Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar. All others either loose their form or not perform well in their games. This must be avooided completely.

They can act in the advertisement and endorse the products during a particular period. After that period they must not involve in any advertisement activity in any form. This will stop their other works and will make them to get involved in the game. Another major consern in the Indian team is the lack of aggression and groupism.

Our team is not called as a aggressie team. But it must not be a team with no killer instinct to win. in recent times (after 2006 Aug) none of the player including the captain had that killing instinct for win. Our players go defensive a lot. A best defence is offense. When you hit their ball they dance to your tune not you dance to their tune.

Cricket Fans

There is lot to blame cricket fans like us. We keep the players in the team when they are winning and drop to feet the next day if they are not performing. Cricket is called as one of the religion in India. But same cricket is just another game in australia. Steve wagh can walk on roads without troubles. People don't care players outside the ground.

Then fans go rampage against board, captain, coach if their favorites was not got selected or not given fair chance. Fans never understand the dressing room statergies which might be in need of different statergies for every game. When there is a big support in name of fans the players are very careless in performance by thinking that the places are permanent.

Sunil there are lot of factors more which are untold like illusive thinking of domestic cricket players not fit for international version etc, If I say those it will be a very much time consuming and page consuming. Thanks for providing an offer to put our words to you
