Robin Uthappa, the karnataka player who is in the team after a long time scored a blistering 70 in chennai today against West Indies pacemen. It was the first game after a long struggle who is having a perfect comeback to the team. His blistering knock today at chennai proved his talent and said the selecters that Robin has some more cricket with him.
Robin Uthappa, the tall man who is son of Venu Uthappa an International Hockey referee had a very fine season last year in domestic cricket. Robin Uthappa was the highest scorer in that season which made selectors to turn their eyes on him. He got selected for the west indies series and haven't provided any oppurtunity in the first two matches. In the third One day international which is progressing in Chepauk Stadium in chennai Robin Uthappa got an oppurtunity to prove his skills again. This oppurtunity was provided because of the rest given to Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Robin Uthappa, came ground as an opener with Gautam Gambir had wonderful knock in the first over which yeilded him a 6 runs. Gautam Gambir who faced the second over got himself out in the deep region for zero. Robin Uthappa partnered with Suresh Raina, who is under pressure to perform well in the game. He was promoted to one down which is the place for Rahul Dravid. But Suresh Raina provided support to Robin Uthappa who batted as if he is in vengence with West Indian Bowlers. Runs came on board at 10 per over during his stay.
Finally Uthappa scored a blistering seventy in the game and used his oppurtunity to prove his skills for those who selected him. If Robin Uthappa performs well he will be the answer for Adam Gilchrist of Australia who is a Wicket Keeper Batsman and also for Mahendra Singh Dhoni who is also an wicketkeeper Batsman of India
