Soundarya Rajinikanth gets married with superstar guests

It`s common courtesy not to steal the bride`s thunder on her wedding day. But that was a tall order for the galaxy of superstars that showed up on Friday morning for Soundarya Rajinikanth`s marriage.

The VIP enclosure included actors Kamal Haasan, Prabhu Deva, Chiranjeevi, Sridevi and Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan, who stars with the bride`s father in his new movies. For those who`ve been occupying a different galaxy themselves, that`s the 200 crore whopper, Robot or Enthiran, which releases in 3 weeks.

Soundarya, who is Rajinikanth`s younger daughter, married a Stanford graduate and Chennai entrepreneur, Ashwin Kumar.

"I am very happy to be present here. What do I say more? It`s a family event. I am here for my friend," said Kamal Haasan.

Chefs were flown in from different cities for the wedding. The food was served on traditional banana leaves. Guests picked the Hyderabadi biryani and the payasam from Kerala as their favourites. But it was the water that may have really been the show-stopper - because it was served by Rajinikanth himself.

A touched Prabhu Deva said, "My dear annan Superstar is the big brother of the industry in Tamil Nadu."

Soundarya has directed her first film - Sultan the Warrior - which releases this year. It stars an old favourite - her father.
