It was first decided by Amithab Bachchan that Abhishek Bachchan will marry Rani mukherjee but due to some reasons the marriage haven't happened at the proper time. During this time both Abhishek Bachchan dated Rani mukherjee and was found in lot of public places.

Then the hot sensation Aishwarya Rai entered into the life of Abhishek Bachchan who also broke off from Vivek Oberoi to date Abhishek Bachchan. News spreaded about the broken arrangements for marriage between Rani mukherjee and Abhishek Bachchan but Abhishek Bachchan was busy in Dating Aishwarya Rai and also in movie Guru.

Fans who are opposing marriage between Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai are now happy to see their favorite couple stars getting married.

When contacted some of the Abhishek fans, they said they are delighted to hear the marriage of Abhishek Bachchan and Rani mukherjee as it is the perfect couple than Abhishek Bachchan. Sachin Tendulkar Announced Retirement today in Mumbai

Sachin Tendulkar, Little master of Cricket, announced his retirement from cricket completely today. Mostly all players around the world critizied Sachin Tendulkar for his performance in cricket world cup 2007. Sachin Tendulkar who has 14000+ runs in his basket was the most critizised person for the failure in cricket world cup 2007.

It was said that contract with BCCI, was also been considered by the officials for its validity. BCCI officials too hinted about the possibilities of renewing the contract with Sachin Tendulkar yesterday. Today morning Sachin called for a press meet in Tendulkars' and announced his retirement from the game.

One of my friendly press Reporter, tipped me about the press meeting with Tendulkar and the mood of Tendulkar. It looks like Tendulkar is so depressed due to the fact that he was unable to perform in the world stage for the first time.

Sachin Tendulkar : I loved this game for more than 18 years and i was in the team for around 14 years (excluding the injury times). Now it is hard to announce my retirement from cricket completely. This is a hard decision which was taken by me after the loss against Sri Lanka where i haven't performed at all.

Reporter : But Sachin, Why now? You have years to play!
Sachin Tendulkar : Yes I have years to play but, I am not sure how i am going to play those years. My Injury makes me restricted from playing varity of shots. So I believe it is time for the new Begining.

Reporter: Sachin, Is this decision of retirement is due to any pressure from Greg Chappell?
Sachin Tendulkar : Greg Chappell is a great master who loves cricket than any other players. There is no pressure on me from Greg. He is extremely cool with me and wants me to see on the ground. He is the first person who came to me after my bad performance against Sri Lanka.

Reporter : Sachin that is only one game, India produced lot of such games in past too?
Sachin Tendulkar: Yes India produced such failures in the past, Even we lost to lower rated countries. But in a world cup this is the first time for India to exit at group stages. We had a lot of experienced players. Even then we are unable to go to super 8.

Reporter: Was that means India got more pressure due to lot of Experience?
Sachin Tendulkar: Yes!, India Failed because of us, our experience. During 1996 /1992 I was the only player who carried the game in world cups. So everyone thought without sachin the team was not there. But now we have Sourav, Rahul, Sehwag and lot other young players. Now people and also we players are getting confused about the position that we are going to play. This created the problem.

Reporter: Sachin, It is hard to digest to hear that you are now retired. What will happen to Cricket In India.
Sachin Tendulkar: Cricket in India will see another legend who can take the game into new levels. Always Cricket provided a lot of legends one at a time. When there was a threatening players from west Indies, India had the same number of players. Now it is time for Australia, India will find a threatening player for them.

Reporter: Sachin, what is your future plan, since you don't have any future now?
Sachin Tendulkar: (laughing) Is it!, I have my own future, I will look after my Hotel Tendulkars' and serve a good coffee with good cricket. I spend good amount of time with my family and my child.

Reporter: SO you are not going to start any academy to train people
Sachin Tendulkar: It is a costly business. Yes I know people will come to my academy for training but i am not interested in using my name as brading any more.

Reporter: Is that means no more endrosements?
Sachin Tendulkar: Yes

Reporter: If you are not into endrosing products, it means a hard time for advertisers too.
Sachin Tendulkar: NO it is not a hard time for them. Even now they stopped all the endrosements which are featured by me. They run on a winning horse not on the failed horse. They find some bollywood stars and pay huge money like what they paid for me.

Reporters: Sachin, It is hard to see you out of cricket. You said Cricket is your blood.
Sachin Tendulkar: Yes i still say it is my blood, that is the reason i want a new blood for myself to lead life by my own way.

Hints for Great Friendships

To become a good friend, you have to work at opening up your life to be available. This means that you will have to place some limits on self-protection. Looking out for yourself, in this sense, means not only looking out for yourself. There is probably not enough time to do all that you want to do. Yet to make a good friend, you will likely have to cut back on all the things that you want to do. There are so many things to do that people who want to be good friends have to make some conscious decisions to not do some of the activities available to them. This also applies to being private. Close friends are internally available to one another. By this I mean that their thoughts and feelings are available. You cannot be much of a good friend if you play it too careful with what you think and how you feel. Especially important is the ability to tell your friend how you think and how you feel about him or her.

True friends help each other. Spend time thinking about your friend. What is going on in his or her life? What might she or he think about that? How might she or he feel about it?

But before you can be of much help to your friend, you must understand your friend. No matter how much you see you and your friend as being alike, you are infinitely different, at least in the specific particulars of life. Understanding your friend is empathy. The best way to be able to accurately empathize with your friend is to dialogue. Dialogue is one of the only ways that you will ever get to know your friend.

Dialogue is that kind of communication designed just for getting to know and understand another. Dialogue uses the inquisitive question, "Why?" for the purpose of finding out how a friend thinks and feels. In dialogue, you try to keep asking "why?" until you get down to the heart of the matter and the "insides" of your friend. You are wanting to understand, so that you can be of help. When life gives your friend troubles, you want your help and advice to be tailored to your friend. That will mean saying things a bit different than you would talk to yourself, just because you are different.

Friends are like chests of buried treasure filled with jewels. Dialogue helps you find all those fascinating things about your friend. Every thing you learn can be exciting with the right attitude. You do not have to agree or want the same things or see things the same way to be in wonder at your friends likes, dislikes, choices, etc. Since "being" together is much more important to close friends than "doing" together, what you learn about one another is the prize! People want to be known and accepted.

Friendship requires acceptance. Acceptance does not always mean "approval". But it does mean loving tolerance for a few shortcomings. Acceptance means that you appreciate many things about your friend, especially those things that are different from yourself and your way of thinking and feeling. Friends who are just like you might seem "wonderful", but they will have little to offer you in the way of different ways of seeing things or different experiences to enjoy. Photocopy friends are in some ways dangerous. They seem safe because they so easily understand you. But when the chips are down, they will misunderstand things just as you do. When you need a fresh perspective to get out of a jam, they will be of limited help compared to a close friend who is much different than you.

True friendship looks out for what is best for the friend. And sometimes this means saying something that is honest, but will not be welcomed at first. If your friend takes what you have said as hurtful, quietly and patiently help your friend to know that you did not mean to hurt – only to help. This is an important skill in friendship – to hang in there to reassure rather than to withdraw for your own safety.

Some friends will be guarded and not open up readily. This is most likely due to it being dangerous during childhood to speak and tell how they really felt and what they really thought. These friends need your patient help to see that it is safe to speak from inside of themselves. They will need you to model open honesty, thus showing them that it is truly safe.

It is probably a good principle to always assume that you do not understand what another person has said. This will prompt you to ask questions. Asking questions shows that you are interested in truly understanding what another has said. It is very flattering to your friend for you to ask questions. And don't often preface your questions with the statement, "I don't understand." Just ask the questions. For example, your friend says that she likes ice cream. Don't say, "I'm with you. I like ice cream too." Ask what kind of ice cream, and when she tells you she likes rocky road, don't even then think you understand much. Ask why she likes rocky road and find out if it is the texture, a childhood memory, or something else. Of course, if the subject is something more important than ice cream, and they all should be, it is even more important to ask questions and assume you do not yet understand.

All friendships take work. Relationships that are "easy" are shallow. All of us make mistakes and have some bad, even hurtful, habits. The cycle of hurt feelings, understanding and forgiveness is often needed in friendships.

When a friend is acting "yucky", it probably means that he or she is going through something difficult and needs understanding from you. Instead of running away from the undesirable behavior, you need to ask what is wrong. Then see if you can offer helpful comments of empathy and then advice.

When a friend hurts you, try to hold your assumptions in question. Although you feel hurt, it is probably unlikely that a close friend wanted to hurt you. In fact, there might very well be another explanation. You could have heard something different than what was intended. You could have interpreted the action incorrectly. Or you might not understand the situation your friend was in, and how it was so very difficult for your friend.

When you feel hurt by your friend, don't assume that you were hurt – only that you feel hurt. First ask your friend if he or she meant to hurt you. Once your friend has said no hurt was intended, ask your friend why he or she said what he or she said or did what he or she did. Hold off making judgments and keep asking "why?" until you fully understand why your friend does not think that he or she meant to hurt you.

Remember that your friend cannot do better and better at being your friend unless you tell what you need from the friendship. And try to get beyond "companion thinking" where you just think of the things that you want to do with your friend. That's okay, but if it does not go further, you will only have a companion and miss having a close friend. Close friends take some of their personal needs into the relationship. And that is not bad – unless one of you has so many needs as to be overwhelming. But the needs for encouragement, reciprocity, truthful feedback, and many other personal things are very important. Anything without them is not a true, close friendship.

Remember that words make up only 10-20% of the message. Body language, tone of voice, timing, and other factors make up the whole message. Keep in mind that you may be sending out nonverbal messages that might be misunderstood. For example, if you are a person who is pretty much inside of yourself, you might not show any excitement when you meet your friend at a restaurant. Eventually your friend might value another friendship more because he or she knows for sure that he or she is someone another person looks forward to seeing.

Whenever you talk to someone, remember to whom you are talking. With a close friend, where you know a lot about one another, you will know pretty much to whom you are talking. You will know how he or she sees things differently than you do. Therefore, you will phrase things in a way she or he can best understand rather than the easiest way for you to say things.

NOTE: If you lose friends frequently, it is a good idea for you to find out why and what you need to change. This would be a legitimate reason to seek professional counseling. You want to find out what you do in friendships that is dysfunctional. It is smart – very smart – to get over this problem. By doing so, you will change the whole course of your life!

Shameful performance

In my previous post i suggested not to over hype Indian performance against Bermuda. That post was just because i feared that on friday India would suffer a sure shot defeat from Sri Lanka. The team that lost to India 6-1 in India.

I feared because i watched India v/s Bangladesh. In that match India was all over the place. Its shameful that after having all the types of coaches and infrastructure India still not able to correct the basics of the game like running and fielding etc. Forget about pressure situations have you noticed the players attitude on the field. No hunger at all for victory. And it is high time to remove Dravid from captaincy. He is not at all able to give spark and life to team.

Greg Chappell cant do anything if team's attitude goes on for this. Even What more is of no use to Indian team if players themselves are not willing to fight.

I backed Bangladesh in yesterday's match because i cant bear humiliation in next 6 matches.

Well done Bangladesh. You deserved a super 8's place.

Smell of the victory

Bangladesh eliminated India from world cup in group B yesterday. the group B of cricket world cup 2007 is called as Group of Death. As the two nations who are with a lot of experience in the game against a team which is not having much experience. But everything turned upside down when those teams clashed for their position for super eights.

Sri Lanka, the unbeaten team lead by jayawardane, is the only team which escaped from the hammers of bangladesh. The new dark horse of cricket world cup 2007 beat India in its first match and then got a loss against Sri Lanka. Mean while India the Asian giant and the richest cricketing body in the world clashed with Bermuda and Srilanka and won bermuda. This made Indian cricket team a virtual exit in the group stage itself.

A Billion prayers was made for bermuda to beat Bangladesh which meet at Queens Park oval yesterday. I think the rain God heared the prayer and opened his blessings in Queens park, which resulted a Thirty30 match against Bermuda and Bangladesh. Every one thouoght Bangladesh will win easily but lot of hope on some Bermuda players who looked promising. But Yesterday Bermuda failed to produce a knock which all indians wanted it to.

Bangladesh tasted its first victory in a major game and now advanceing to super eights asa dark horse. This time kenya got trashed (remember they trash big teams in every world cup) and got eliminated. So there is a dark horse from minnows (bangladesh) and also from a test playing nation (new Zealand). Lets wait and see who is going to win the cup of willows.

Cricket World Cup Unforgettables – Australia v South Africa, 1999

This has to be the greatest ever match played in a world cup. The two teams resumed their intense struggle against one another from just 5 days before when they had played out a close encounter in the Super Six stage of the tournament. Australia had prevailed on that day, beating the South Africans with just two balls to spare, helped in no mean terms by an unbeaten century from their tenacious captain Steve Waugh. That was also the match in which Gibbs dropped Waugh early on in his innings and supposedly induced the now famous “You just dropped the world cup, mate” comment from the Australian captain.

Australia had a shaky start to their world cup campaign and came into the Super Six stage having to win all their matches in order to make it to the semifinals. They had lost their 2 initial group matches to both Pakistan and New Zealand. To make matters worse these two teams were Australia's fellow qualifiers from their group. As a result Australia started off the Super Six stage with no points, knowing that nothing short of victory in all their remaining matches alone would take them into the semi-finals. Australia did just that and with some style.

Australia batted first and promptly lost Mark Waugh in the first over itself to Shaun Pollock. Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist put on a 51 run partnership before Ponting departed in the 14th over. Australia then lost the wicket of Darren Lehman in the same over. Steve Waugh walked in with his side in trouble at 3 for 58. His troubles were even more accentuated when Gilchrist got out with the score at 68 in the 17th over.

As has been the characteristic of his entire career, Steve Waugh then started a rearguard fightback as only he can. It is impossible to think of any other batsmen you would want to be in the middle when your team is in crisis. No other player must have rescued its team as much as Steve Waugh has in the history of cricket. Here he put on a superb 90 run partnership with Michael Bevan (arguably the greatest ODI player in the game's history). before Waugh departed with his own personal score at 56.

What followed was some superb piece of bowling by the South African spearheads Donald and Pollock. They picked up the remaining Australian wickets one by one with Bevan standing helplessly at the other end. Only Shane Warne provided dome token resistance putting on 49 runs with Bevan. Bevan was the last man out for 65 and Australia was bowled out for 213 with 4 balls still to spare. Pollock and Donald finished up with figures of 5/36 and 4/32 respectively.

The South African innings started off steadily. The opening pair of Gibbs and Kirsten made a solid 48 in 12.2 overs. Then the magician Shane Warne got into the act. The 'Wizard of Oz' gave such a brilliant exhibition of spin bowling that at the time it seemed impossible that South Africa would ever recover from its effects. Warne teased and bamboozled out 3 quick South African wickets, including a controversial one of Hansie Cronje. Cronje was given out when replays clearly showed that the ball had come off his boot. The South African cause was not helped by the run out of Daryl Cullinan and the South Africa was left teetering at 61 for 4.

As with the Australian innings earlier South Africa too went through a period of consolidation through a gritty partnership between Rhodes and Kallis. They took the score to 145 when Rhodes departed trying to up the tempo. But Kallis and Pollock continued to take the score forward before Shane Warne came back to make one last impact on the game. He removed Kallis and gave very little runs away in the slog overs. In the end his figures read 10-4-29-4.

The match however was not over yet. Klusener came out and started belting the ball all over the park as he had done throughout the tournament. He would later on be voted the most valuable player of the tournament. Klusener would have taken the game away from Australia had he got some support from the other end. Unfortunately South Africa kept losing wicket before they found themselves with only Allan Donald and Klusener left to face the last over of the match.

This was one of the most astounding final overs in the history of the game. South Africa needed 9 runs off the last 6 balls with Klusener at strike and Fleming was the bowler. The first two balls were bludgeoned for boundaries and South Africa looked certain to romp home. But cricket is played as much in the mind as it is on the field. Steve Waugh applied more pressure to an already pressure cooker like atmosphere by bringing the field in.

Fleming bowled the next ball and Donald, South Africa's most experienced player, backed up too far on Klusener's push to mid-on and only Darren Lehmann's underarm throw at the stumps saved him as he scrambled back. This seemed to have fused out Klusener's thought process as well. For off the very next ball Klusener pushed the ball to mid off and set off for a risky run. Why he did so when he still had two more balls to face is still a mystery. Anyway he did set off for the run and in the ensuing chaos of the situation Allen Donald did not hear his partner's call for the single. He therefore started off late for the run. Mark Waugh scooped the ball and threw the ball at Fleming. Donald in the meanwhile was trying desperately to make his ground sans his bat, which he had lost in the confusion. Fleming collected the throw from Waugh and rolled it along the pitch to Gilchrist who easily ran out Donald. Australia exploded into a spontaneous celebration and the pain etched on Klusener's face was heart breaking. The match was a tie!!!

Australia went into the final as it had beaten South Africa in the league stage and the tournament rules specified that in case of a tie, an earlier result should be taken into account.

The Game of Dead delayed

Who said Group B is a heavy weight teams group? When ICC presented the Groups table everyone thought that Group B will be a dominated by two asian heavy weights and it will be a peice of cake for them to get into Super Eight

Sri Lanka and India were those two giants which was in great form before the start of cricket world cup. Former secured its place in super eight and now it is taking 2 points to super eight, where as the later is now under a dead end place as it lost two out of three games.

The game of minnows happening today at Queen's Park Oval is an interesting game all together. No matter who win the game, some one will enter into Super Eights. It is a game between Bermuda and Bangladesh, creates much interest all over India. It is a defining match for India whether they will be in West Indies or they will come back home. If Bangladesh wins the game at Queens park, then Bangladesh enters into super eight and India will be eliminated by a Minnow of cricket. A loss in the game will cost India a back door entry to super eight which they don't deserve.

Bermuda has nothing to loose and will only take whatever it gets today. Be it a win or a loss it will be a learning experience for Bermudian players. Bangladesh must win this game today to stay alive in the forth coming games. The game started with a toss won by Bangladesh and choose to field first. Yesterday was a disasterous day for team india. They were in high pressure from every corner. The first pressure can we able to qualify for super eight. , What will happen if we lose? What will happen when we return to India. What will happen to our homes? Any safety for our familes down there.

Well these are the questions which ran in an Indian cricketer who is in cricket world cup 2007 in west indies. These questions pressureised even the cool Rahul Dravid and made a lot of mistakes yesterday in the ground. Finally India lost the match against Sri Lanka and now the team is not kowing where to go. If they come to India now defintely they will get a good treat from the cricket fans of India no matter where they land Indian cricket team will face a big problem from fans. Already there was a threat to Indian team, not that threat will be intense since all the fans of Cricket (couch cricketers and actuall cricket fans) are angry.

It all started with a defeat against Bangladesh the minnows who slapped the Indian team which was flying in the sky. THat showed the reality for the Indian team and trashed Bermuda which gave little confidence against the team. But when they came to take the heavy weight Sri Lanka, Indian team looked like a minnows in the group which got pressureised from corners and gave their wickets for silly reasons. Only sachin's wicket was an unfortunate one which none expected. Ganguly catch was a best effort of Sri Lankan team which caught him and made him to fail.

The elimination of Heavy weight India from world cup means a lot of financial loss for all people, It will be a huge loss to Neo sports which is the official channel which paid a huge amount to cover these games which India is playing. India Died virtually

It was a Do or Die battle yesterday for Indian cricket team in west Indies. Will India make itself to the super eight? The question was in the minds of all Indian cricket fans who are watching the game with more tensed situation.

India Met Sri Lanka in the final dual of droup B for India. It met with a situation of Do or Die and Indian cricket fans said Do it there to come to India or Die there in West Indies itself. India won the Toss and elected to field first as India's strength lies in Batting line up and can chase any target.

The Indian think tanks believed India can chase a total well than setting a target. It looked like Rahul Dravid took a corret decision when Zaheer Khan took a brilliant catch in the deep of Sanath Jayasuriya. Sri Lanka lost its early wickets faster but the middle order bulit a partnership where the runs came in regular run rate. The partnership created a solid base for Srilanka which marched to its 50th over with 254 runs.

India team fielding looked improved with most of the players contributing to stop the ball. The classic was from harbajan singh who never fields in the ground was found rolling all over the field. Mahendra Singh Dhoni took a classic catch behind the stumps.

By Restricting Sri Lanka to 254/6 India had a better chance to win the game since the required run rate is just 5.2 and there is a depth in the batting line up with more experienced batsman in the world. When India took the crease with Sourav Ganguly and Robin Uthappa, it was a bright day with dry outfield than the sri lankan innings. First Over with all full length delivaries with various variation of bounce made Robin to play carefully. First over of the match went to maiden.

Sourav Ganguly who was in tremendous form this world cup went to a hit of easy two runs in the second ball of second over and the game looked promising. There were some good shots from Robin uthappa who took 18 with 3 fours. It is during 6th over when robin lost his patience and started to bat in air. the first ball of the over went to murali which was tougher to take and it was a well try from murali. at third ball Robin again hitted the ball in the hand and it was a caught and bowled by Vaas who took a fantastic catch in the reflex itself. First wicket for sri lanka. Sehwag the centurion against bermuda came to the crease and looked promising for some time.

The bowlers of Sri Lanka bowled their best in line attacking stumps always. This made ganguly to lose his patience and stated to attack the bowler. When he started playing in air he lost his wicket and india lost its second Wicket. Sachin Tendulkar the highest run scorer in world cups came to bat at 2 down. he was welcomed with a inside edge from mallinga and lost his wicket for zero. It was an unfortunate event for Both indian team and for Tendulkar on whom the hops of billion is riding.

From then due to the pressure India started to do mistakes as yuvraj singh got run out for a run which cannot be made. and the tail enders completed their parade at regular intervals. Thus India lost all its wickets within 43.3 overs and lost to Sir Lanka by 69 runs. This loss made India to go down and is now virtually eliminated from entering into super eight.

Still India has a chance to enter super eight if bermuda beats Bangladesh. But if India enters into super eight in this way it is a shame for all Indians.

'We didn't deserve to go into the second round' - Dravid

What are your plans for the future?
It's too early really to think about anything. A lot of hard work has gone into the preparation in the last year and to be knocked out of the tournament so early is a huge disappointment for all of us.

How emotional are you at this point?

Can you say something about the Irfan Pathan mystery?

He is always in the squad but never picked in the XI. I think we picked the team based on what the best combination is for the day. There is a tour selection committee with a lot of experience and we decide who's going to play and who' s not going to play, everyone cannot play in the 15, and some guys miss out. He played against West Indies. He was unfortunately injured against Sri Lanka. He played in the Deodhar Trophy, he was declared fit and he came here. At this point we did not think he was in our three best seamers so he did not play.

There was a lot of talk about Vision 2007. Where do we go from here?
It's really early to collect my thoughts. Really disappointing, a lot of hard work has gone into it over the last year. We did not play well in this tournament and did not deserve to go into the second round.

Did you think the target was gettable today?
255 was gettable. I'm disappointed with the top order. Definitely I thought it was a gettable target. I think we had the extra batsman. We lost wickets at regular intervals. We needed one big partnership, we did not get that. We definitely should have made a much better chase of it than we did in the end.

Do you have any hope that Bermuda can give a shock result over Bangladesh and help you qualify for the Super Eight?
Not really. Well, anything can happen in cricket. To be honest we have not really played well enough. The things which were in our control we have not done well enough.

India had a good build up to the tournament. Where do you think it went wrong?
The lead up to this tournament was pretty good. The confidence was quite high and the boys were playing good cricket. That's the nature of one-day cricket, we had a bad game against Bangladesh where we did not really bat well upfront. That sort of put pressure on us. Today again we did not play well enough. The way the tournament is structured you have one banana-skin game and you can be out of the tournament quite quickly. We started slowly too but had enough games to pull ourselves us back. This time we did not have that, that's where we fell I suppose. The first game against Bangladesh we did not play anywhere near our potential.

It's not happened for the first time, the batsmen crumbling, choking under pressure...
Some of these guys have had success before as well. It's a question of may be the guys going back and looking at their performances, how they performed in the important games and critical games. Yes, we have not batted anywhere near our potential. We picked what was the best batting line-up in the conditions but I guess we were the best batting line-up in India, but we did not bat well enough in these two games. It is definitely something to think about.

Is this the worst defeat of your career?
It's disappointing. It's not a nice thing to lose in the early part of the World Cup. We have invested a lot of time and effort in it and it has not gone our way. It's a big event and you really want to do well. Sports is like that, sometimes your best plans and all your ideas just don't work.

Both Pakistan and India have crashed out despite the conditions being similar to that in the subcontinent...
Both the teams did not play good cricket. I think Pakistan stumbled against Ireland and we stumbled against Bangladesh. In a tournament like it is, you have one bad day and you could be in big trouble and that's what happened to Pakistan and India. I am sure there is a lot of thinking to do in both the countries.

Is it time to look at the entire system?
I have just come out of a game and I have had no time to collect my thoughts and think about these things. But when you lose like this, that is what you should do. When you have a few setbacks, when there are disappointments, or when things like this happen, then it's time for the people concerned to sit back and look at the whole issue and see how we can go forward and how we can g et better and keep improving, and perform better in the tournaments to come. So, yes it is obviously time for people who make decisions to sit back and reflect, and look at how we can make things better. We have to think about it rationally. I guess there is always a lot of emotions that gets involved in all these things. But it is time to look back rationally and see how we can move forward.

Are you worried about security back home?
Not really. I hope the players wouldn't be under any physical danger. To be honest, I don't expect that to be the case. I am sure people will be disappointed, and fair enough. They have invested a lot of hope in this team and we haven't delivered. So, they are entitled to be disappointed. But I just hope that no-one in is in any physical danger.

Are you happy with the effort of the players in the tournament?
We put a lot in this game. Definitely against Bangladesh, I was pretty disappointed with just the all-round effort. But today I thought we put in hard in the field. The boys were up for it, they came out really hard and tried their best. I just think we didn't execute well with the bat. I think 254 was a very gettable score on that wicket. We didn't execute our plans well with the bat. We just kept losing too many wickets and that's never a good thing when you are chasing a score like 250 at five runs and over.

Do you realise the enormity of this defeat?
Nobody realizes the enormity of the defeat than the players. The players are the one who put in a lot of time. They worked really hard for this. It is an opportunity they get once in four years. It is something that you really look forward to in your career. So no-one understands the enormity of this more than the players. Definitely there is a lot of introspection and disappointment in the dressing room.

It's been difficult for India in the Caribbean...
We have done quite well in the Test matches here. Yes, we haven't done well in the one-dayers in the last couple of series. It just hasn't worked out for us. We, as batsmen, have just not been able to adapt to these wickets. The nature of these wickets somehow has been that, as a group, we haven't been able to adapt to and score the kind of runs that we should.

Have some players overstayed their welcome?
It is too early, and it is not for me to say these things. I am just out of a grave game of cricket. I have just lost a game of cricket. I guess there is a month now and obviously the people who make decisions will have to sit down and think about it and see what they feel is the best way to take things forward or how they felt that things should move forward.

Shouldn't some one stand up and take responsibility?
We definitely do take the responsibility. I am not sitting here and trying to shirk responsibility. I am the first one to stand up and say that we should have done better, and it starts with me. I am not trying to put the responsibility on anyone. People are asking me what's the way forward and what do we do. I haven't really thought about stuff like that. Till about 24 hours ago, I truly believed that we will still be in this tournament. I didn't have the time to think what's ahead of us. But I am not trying to say I don't take any responsibility. I take full responsibility for the fact that we haven't progressed to the next round.

Will you continue as captain?
I was appointed captain till the World Cup. So I am not even the captain at this point of time. So it's not my decision to make.

How does it feel for the senior members to never have won a World Cup?
It will always be a disappointment. I have played in three World Cups, and we did well in one of them. So, yeah it's not an ideal scenario. It's not something that, if you were writing a fairy tale, you wouldn't write it this way. But that's what sports is about. Sometimes, you don't get to choose the way everything works out for you. That is the beauty and cruelty of sport.

Can you compare this campaign with the one in 2003?
I just think we probably had a little more breathing space there to regroup there and bounce back. The way the format was in the last World Cup, it guaranteed you five or six games. So it gave you an opportunity to get into a bit form. I thought we batted a lot better in the last World Cup. We got some good scores, we chased down some good scores. I think we just adapted better to those conditions in the last World Cup then we did here, in this first week that happened so quickly for us.

The captain and coach keep saying 'everything is fine, we are going to win.' Why doesn't it happen?
I haven't come across a single captain or coach as yet, who starts before a match saying we are going to lose it. Nobody will come to a press conference and say that we are going to lose the match. That's not what you do. Definitely, we expect our batsmen and our bowlers and everyone to do well.

Where did you lose?
We didn't play good cricket. Where did we lose? We gave them 254 runs and we didn't chase it down. We ended up with 180. No one-one feels worse about it than the players. I know you guys feel bad and disappointed about it. The players also feel disappointed. It's a lot of time invested by the players. It's a lot of their dreams, a lot of their hopes that go into tournaments like this. When it doesn't work out for them, they feel it more than anyone else.

Once there was a king who told some of his workers to dig a pond. Once the pond was dug, the king made an announcement to his people saying that one person from each household has to bring a glass of milk during the night and pour it into the pond. So, the pond should be full of milk by the morning.
After receiving the order, everyone went home. One man prepared to take the milk during the night. He thought that since everyone will bring milk, he could just hide a glass of water and pour inside the pond. Because it will be dark at night, no one will notice. So he quickly went and poured the water in the pond and came back.
In the morning, the king came to visit the pond and to his surprise the pond was only filled with water! What has happened is that everyone was thinking like the other man that "I don't have to put the milk, someone else will do it."

SriLanka v/s Bangladesh

If you go by names of the teams then surely you will find SriLanka a sure shot winner. But if you have seen B'desh's previous match against India then you will wait till the match ends to find a winner. Whatever we say but Bdesh victory over India has generated so much interest in this pool of the, otherwise dead, World Cup. And as 1st round is approaching to its end the tournament is coming to its own.

Cricket World Cup Unforgettables - India v Pakistan 1996

There was seldom a world cup match as eagerly anticipated, watched and rejoiced by every Indian as this encounter. For me even our world cup winning 1983 final will have to take a second place to this one. There are a couple of reasons for this. For one I was too young to even care about cricket in 1983. For another, it was the first time Pakistan was coming to play in India in 7 years. It was in this world cup that a certain gentleman called Sanath Jayasurya announced his arrival as an explosive batsman at the top of the order. He started the trend of pinch hitting in ODI cricket. It was a world cup where the minnows Kenya scored an upset victory on the West Indies. However nothing matched the drama, the emotion and the sheer intensity of this match.

1996 was the first and only world cup to have had the group matches followed by knockout matches leading up to the final. Thus India and Pakistan (the reigning world champions) came to meet each other in a quarter final at Bangalore. The stage was set and the ingredients could not have been spicier. Pakistans long absence from Indian soil, the tensions between the nations, the traditional history and rivalry between the two nations all contributed to the hype surrounding the match. But none of these reasons were more important than the fact that the two teams were meeting each other for the first time in a winner takes all stage at the world cup.

Pakistan suffered a major blow on the morning of the match when their captain and best bowler, Wasim Akram, declared himself unfit for the match due to a ruptured side muscle. But Jadeja changed all that and plundered 96 runs from the last 10 overs off which 51 came of the last 3. Waqar Younis, Pakistans main weapon was left without a clue as to what hit him when Jadeja along with the tail hit 24 runs off his 48th over and 18 off his 50th. Jadeja hit younis for 3 fours and a six in the 48th over. It was among the most brilliant exhibition of hitting ever seen and Ajay Jadeja turned into superstar in that match. He propelled the Indian score to 287 for 8.

Pakistan was docked one over for slow over rater and had to reach the target in 49 overs. They started off in an explosive manner with Sohail and Saeed Anwar scoring at around 8 an over. Even after Anwar left for 48 off 32 balls, Sohail continued in the same vein and took the score to 113.

Then came the pivotal moment in the match, which is now part of world cup folklore. Venkatesh Prasad, an unknown bowler at the time, was hit for a four by Sohail. For some reason Sohail decided to indulge in some arrogant gamesmanship. Sohail after hitting the shot pointed his bat at the area where the bowl had disappeared and then towards Prasad apparently gesturing where he will send the next one. It was irresponsible from a captain and maybe even caused him to lose his focus.

There was a hush in the stadium and I, watching that on TV, was seething. It was a feeling shared by the millions of other Indians watching that match. Prasad bowled the next ball slightly wide. Sohail attempted the same shot again with utmost contempt. But his feet were not moving and he only managed to drag it back to his stumps. The entire country must have erupted at that second, and I was screaming my head off at the TV and pumping my fits at it. What made the moment even sweeter was Prasad returning the favor by showing the way to the pavilion to Sohail accompanied with a slew of profanities.

The entire mood of the Indian team changed after that. They were revitalized and had a spring in their step. They went on to apply pressure and wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals. But despite some late charge by Rashid Latif, the match was as good as over when Miandad was run out with the score at 239.

The celebrations that occurred later on were unbelievable. The entire country seemed to have gone bonkers and there was spontaneous revelry all around. Perhaps we should have grasped their true feelings when a banner was shown in the stadium stating This is the World Cup final. And it really was for every Indian cricket fan.

Too much hype over Sehwag's innings

Atlast he scored. He scored some runs for India and for himself . Much needed hundred came for Sehwag. It was against a minnow Bermuda but still good for his confidence.

But can we consider this sufficient?? All his failures are forgotten now? What about the pain that he had given to an Indian fan in the past?? Whole of the nation is in party mood today and it should be because loss to Bangladesh was too much to bear. Atleast Indian fans deserve some joy after so much pain they suffer.

Now a big match India v/s Sri Lanka. And now the real test for Indian tigers (now they regain their stature after beating children). And i am pretty confident that Sehwag is going to fail in that match. Its unfortunate that Sehwag got 100 against Bermuda. Now he will definitely play against Lanka and God save India.

I will hope that he does well but still i doubt that he can deliver against better teams. I urge all the fans that please dont be to hopeful and dont be to excited about Indian team. Otherwise their feelings would be hurted in the same manner as they were against Bangladesh.

Virendar Sehwag, the Indian Cricketer who is on bad patch and form has gained some confidence and touched the ball with the bat for more time than other players. Indian cricket fans was blasting BCCI for his inclusion in the team for Cricket world cup 2007, but to prove the point of Indian fans Sehwag failed to deliver in the first match against Bangladesh which created more pressure on him to perform in the game to stay wiht the team.

Virender Sehwag entered into a game which might be a Do or Die situation today against Bermuda. It was the first direct clash for Bermuda against India and Bermuda started the game with a wicket on first over. Robin Uthappa, the close contestant for Virender Sehwag failed to deliver yet another time.

But Sehwag stood like a wall on the ground and started to deliver the balls to boundaries. After a long period of time tt was a treat for all the eyes of Indian fans who believed Sehwag will bounce back again like Sourav Ganguly. Sourav Ganguly anchored the other side and runs followed.

Sehwag took a hundred in his arms after a period of one year in international game. This will boost the confidence level of Sehwag and can make him to bring his form back. Britney Spears rehab romp

Britney Spears was caught romping in the bushes of her rehab centre with a mystery man.

The troubled singer played a game of tennis with the unnamed man, who is also receiving treatment at Malibu's Promises clinic, before they disappeared together.

The pair were later found frolicking in the folliage of the grounds and had to be separated by security staff.

A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Britney and her new male friend decided to play a game of tennis. Britney is allowed a little more freedom now she's been in the centre a while.

"The next thing they had sneaked off into the bushes and were getting pretty passionate. They weren't actually having sex but there was definitely some groping. We had to step in to separate them.

"They were told off. They're in rehab and relationships between vulnerable people aren't really encouraged."

This is the second time Britney, 25, has been romantically linked with someone she has met at rehab.

Last week, it was reported that Britney was growing "very close" with rock guitarist Jason Filyaw, who she met at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

The 33-year-old rocker claimed he and the shaven-haired singer had "found love" since meeting again in rehab. The pair had met once before in 2003 when they recorded some music together.

Britney checked into the centre last month and is believed to be being treated for alcoholism.
