Director Bala Wins his second National Award

Director Bala has won the Best Director award for his film `Naan Kadavul` at the 56th National Film Awards announced in New Delhi today. `Naan Kadavul` set in the pilgrimage centre of Kasi is about the Aghori Sanyasis. A landmark film in Tamil `Naan Kadavul` was critically well acclaimed when it released last year. Bala took nearly three years to make this film. The film is an adaptation of the Tamil novel `Yelavathu Ulagam` by Jayamohan.

Bala was expected to bag this award for his Pithamagan in 2004. But Vikram got the Best Actor Award.
