Jackie Chan keen on working with Kamal Haasan

Hollywood action hero Jackie Chan is keen on working with Indian great Kamal Haasan. Chan, who was here at the audio release of Haasan`s magnum opus "Dasavathaaram" today, said India has been one of his favourite places. It was nothing less than a dream line-up at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor stadiun here with Jackie Chan, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Mammootty coming together.

Chief Minister M Karunanidhi was also present on the occasion, which was electrified with the presence of Bollywood heartthrob Mallika Sherawat, `Dream Girl` Hema Malini, Jayapradha and south Indian actors Asin and Vijay. Cheering up the audience, who had turned up in large numbers to see their favourite stars, Chan said "I have seen some scenes of the movie (`Dasavathaaram`). The acting is excellent. I do not act but do action in the movie," he said. Bachchan said he has a deep emotional connection with the city as he received his first award from Karunanidhi here years ago. PTI

Harbhajan suspended from IPL

Temperamental off-spinner Harbhajan Singh was suspended pending his explanation for slapping his Indian teammate S Sreesanth at the end of an IPL match in Mohali on Friday night and appears headed for a severe punishment which can be a minimum of a ban for five Test matches or 10 one-day internationals.

Harbhajan was earlier given a show-cause notice by the BCCI which gave him time till Monday to explain his conduct but bowing to media and public outrage, he was temporarily suspended till the disciplinary hearing before Farokh Engineer, who was the Match Referee in the tie between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians.

The suspension means Harbhajan Singh, who is the stand-in captain for the Mumbai Indians, will not be able to play for the team against Deccan Chargers on Sunday in Mumbai.

Announcing the suspension, IPL Chairman and Commissioner Lalit Modi said that based on prima facie video evidence as seen and reviewed by the match adjudicator and referee Farokh Engineer from the tapes provided by Sony & TWI, a decision has been reached to suspend with immediate effect Harbhajan Singh of the Mumbai Indians pending the inquiry into the incident on Monday, April 28, 2008.

"The inquiry into the incident at Mohali in the game between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians will now take place at the Maurya Sheraton, New Delhi on April 28th, 2008. A final verdict would be announced by the adjudicator Farokh Engineer post hearing at New Delhi", he said in a statement.

As per the ICC Code of Conduct, slapping a fellow player constitutes a level 4 offence and could lead to a life ban or a minimum ban of five Tests to 10 ODIs.

BCCI President Sharad Pawar said that he had told the IPL Chairman if there was prima facie evidence of wrong-doing on the part of any player, the IPL should take immediate action against the player.

Simaltaneously, he said, the IPL should give opportunity to both the players by hearing them and then take a final view. The IPL Committee will take a separate decision on Monday, he added.

The immediate provocation for Harbhajan`s action last night appears to be Sreesanth saying "hard luck" to the off spinner who was in a bad mood following the Mumbai team`s third successive loss.

Though Harbhajan, who had only recently escaped unscathed from a searing racial abuse row with Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds, and his victim Sreesanth who cried bitterly on the field last night, tried to downplay the incident, the BCCI sought his explanation by Monday.

The IPL also asked the Match Referee and Adjudicator Engineer to hold an inquiry in Delhi on Monday when Singh would appear before him.

As the cricket world reacted with shock and condemned his behaviour, the Mumbai Indians brazenly announced late evening that Singh would captain tomorrow`s match against Deccan Chargers in Mumbai in the absence of an unfit Sachin Tendulkar.

But shortly later, Modi`s announcement came as a setback to the team which has already lost all the three matches in the tournament so far.

not a joke and we are not playing any April fool`s prank. It`s confirmed, Kareena Kapoor and her latest beau, Saif Ali Khan, will soon tie the knot, post the release of their much-awaited flick Tashan.

Kareena kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, who made their relationship public in October last year, at Manish Malhotra`s grand finale at the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai, have been Bolllywood`s super sizzling couple ever since. "Harshita Saxena from Goa is a Gladrags model. She was a part of my Megamodel Contract in April 2006. Her contract has not expired and this girl has entered in some other contest before the contract has expired. The contract clearly says that they have to take my permission," Maureen says.

"Harshita has violated the rules and we will address this in proper legal manner. We have already set the legal wheels in motion," she adds.

Simran Kaur Mundi of Mumbai was crowned Miss India Universe 2008 at a glittering function held at the Andheri Sports Complex in the metropolis on Saturday night.

Parvathy Omanakuttam of Kerala won the Miss India World crown while Harshita Saxena of Goa was declared Miss India Earth.

All three winners will represent the country at the international beauty pageants during the year.

They were selected from among 28 finalists in the presence of prominent personalities from the field of fashion and Bollywood.

The beauty pageant brought international fame to Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai, Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra and Dia Mirza among others in recent years.

The elimination rounds were interspersed with scintillating performances by Bollywood divas Kareena Kapoor , Bipasha Basu and Sameera Reddy . The performances were choreographed by ace dancer Shaimak Davar.

Munna Bhai Sanjay Dutt was a good man for lot of people but for one conman of Mumbai Sanjay Dutt is a bad guy who stole his wife. Meraj Rehman who is the actual husband of Sanjay Dutt`s secret wife Mayantha filed a case against Sanjay Dutt saying that sanjay dutt married mayantha illegaly when she was not yet divorced.

The Apex court scheduled the hearing for yesterday and now adjourned the case for a later date. Meraj Rehman told to Zee news that `I want Sanjay Dutt to leave my wife and I feel that he should remain behind the bars for marrying an already married woman. I have nothing to do with Manyata, I just want my son back,`

Already none of the Sanjay family are happy about his wedding with Mayantha and none included Priya dutt and Tanshila (daughter) went for the marriage. Goa apex court already declared the marriage as not valid and there was a probe regarding the marriage. Goa Court says that Mayantha has the first husband (Meraj Rehman) who is not yet divorced since the papers submitted by mayantha are fake.

Robot shooting starts!

Rajnikanth, super star and the sultan of Style is in his new movie ROBOT is a mega budget movie in Indian film History. Robot`s screenplay is based on a drama written by Sujatha, a reowned scientist, Novelist during 90`s for Dhoordarsan. Shankar, the director Shivaji The Boss got impressed with the story and contacted lot of actors including Kamal Haasan, the new Billa Ajith Kumar, and even the Don Sharukh Khan.

Sharukh Khan even got impressed with the story and came forward to produce the film. But due to some reasons Sharukh Khan dropped the production and dropped from the project. Then came the Style King Rajnikanth to act in the movie.

Now the movie is budgeted at whooping 150 crore produced by Ayngaran International and the shooting started on Feb 15, 2007 on AVM A/C floor secretly. It is not the start of the movie but the photo shoot for the movie. Photo shot of Robot was done by ace cameraman G. Venkat Ram. Venkat Ram joint Rajni film with shivaji and had worked on lot of movies prior to those.

On Feburary 15, 2007, we see a change in tamil film industry which is moving towards technology and Sci fi. There are some instances of behaviour modification seen and will lead to a new era of movies. But no one stop the future.
