You Can´t Measure Heart

You Can't Measure Heart

Some things cannot be measured, and the heart is one of them. I think of three former NFL football stars. Mike Singletary, according to the experts, was too short and his 40-yard speed was not that great.

However, they could not measure his heart and they did not measure his speed for the first five to fifteen yards, and at that distance he was exceptionally fast.

As a result, when a running back broke through the line of scrimmage... Singletary was able to stop him in the first couple of yards. That made quite a difference.

Emmitt Smith's 40-yard speed was not earth shattering... but again, the experts could not measure his heart nor the burst of speed he was able to generate the instant he touched the ball.

As a result, he was able to break through the hole at the line and pick up five to eight yards on a consistent basis and frequently break for much longer runs.

Jerry Rice is the other classic example. His 40-yard speed also was not record-breaking, but his commitment to excellence was not measurable. Videotape of Jerry Rice shows him running stride for stride downfield with a defensive back until the pass is thrown to him. At that point, Jerry turns on the afterburners and frequently leaves the defensive back well behind.

There's something here for all of us to learn. We can measure I.Q., speed, strength and a host of other things, but the will to win and the commitment to excellence will enable a person of average ability to excel. So, use what you've got, including your heart, and I'll see you at the top!

Nothing wrong in being glamorous: Neha Dhupia

Nothing wrong in being glamorous: Neha Dhupia

Neha Dhupia,Neha Dhupia images,Neha Dhupia photo galleryHer bold portrayals in films like 'Julie'and 'Sheesha' have etched her in public consciousness as one of the hottest 'Glamour girls' in Tinsel town. She may have of late been seen to try her hand at de-glamourised roles in Anand Kumar's 'Delhi Heights', Priyadarshan's 'Chup Chup Ke', Sanjay Gupta's 'Dus Kahaaniyan' and Rajat Kapoor's 'Mithya' but at the same time, Neha Dhupia is not apologetic about her 'glam girl' image.

"Ever since I joined the film industry, I have been associated by the audience with a glamorous image. I don't think there is anything wrong with it after all," said Neha and added "I cannot help looking the way I do."

Neha, who made headlines a few years ago with her famous quote "Only Shahrukh and sex sells", said she was not averse to doing roles which required her to expose or look glamorous.

"I will not shy away from doing a film just because it requires me to expose or look glamorous. But yes, it should all be for a purpose," Neha said. Lately though, one has seen the actress in many a realistic film where her role was far from glamorous.

"I took up films like 'Delhi Heights', 'Dus Kahaniyan', 'Chup Chup Ke' and 'Mithya' because I felt doing these films would help me realise my potential as an actor," she said. For example, in her latest film 'Mithya', where she features alongside accomplished actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Ranvir Shourey and Vinay Pathak, Neha plays a role far removed from the glamorous roles one associates her with.

"In 'Mithya', I play Sonam, a gangster's moll. The character of Sonam is far removed from the glamorous portrayals I have done till now. The role did not require me to look glamorous," Neha said. Neha said 'Mithya' featured in an interesting romantic track with Naseer and Ranvir.

For someone who has just been a few years in the industry, how was it sharing screen pace with such an accomplished actor as Naseeruddin Shah?

Salman Khan slaps Katrina Kaif

Salman Khan slaps Katrina Kaif

News of a break-up between Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were just about dying down and now reports of the couple having a huge fight, in a coffee outlet has come to light.

The scene

Salman seems to have gone back to his old ways. The actor who is known for violence against his girlfriends made a scene with Katrina at the Bandstand Barrista, where he is a regular. Last Thursday (January 31), Sal and Kat walked in for their coffee fix at around 2.30 pm. Says an eyewitness who was present, "They were chatting when suddenly the argument got heated.

Salman got up and slapped his girlfriend across her left cheek. It wasn't a hard slap but it made a cracking sound, leaving the actress and the onlookers stunned in shocked silence. Instead of making a scene, she quietly got up and walked out, without uttering a word."

Shhhh…

Salman-Katrina are regulars at the coffee bar and were also spotted there on January 27. Says a staffer, "They often visit us by themselves and in company of friends. Salman has instructed the staff not to mention anything about him or Katrina to anyone, especially the media. But we have never seen angry or badly behaved. This was the first time and frankly, we are all shocked by his behaviour."

Something changed

The couple have been having problems for some time now. But things took a turn for the worse after the couple's return from London, where Salman had gone for the unveiling of his wax statue. An insider adds, "After they got back the couple returned to their bickering ways. Something is upsetting Salman and he's become extremely moody."

When we asked Katrina about the fight, she messaged back, "It's rubbish!" but asked specifically if Salman had manhandled her, she didn't reply back. And didn't respond to our calls.

Ishaa Koppikar irritating Hello Darling co stars

Ishaa Koppikar irritating Hello Darling co stars

Ishaa Koppikar irritating Hello Darling co starsIshaa Koppikar has been allegedly throwing tantrums on the sets of Mukta Arts' Hello Darling, directed by Manoj Tiwari. The film also stars Celina Jaitley, Gul Panag, Chunky Pandey and Javed Jaffrey. Says a source from the unit, "Ishaa has been throwing tantrums on the sets of Hello Darling ever since she signed Sooraj Barjatya's Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi with Sonu Sood. Ishaa considers herself a cut above the rest and conducts acting workshops for Celina and Gul on the sets.

If they weren't so irritated, they'd have found it funny. There are regular showdowns and fights on the sets between the leading ladies but nobody can complain, as Ishaa would not give dates otherwise. They have to complete the film."

According to the source it's not just Ishaa's acting tips that are making the other stars upset. "Ishaa keeps the unit waiting for five hours at a stretch, continuously asks for costume changes and demands a single van every time she shoots. The shooting is on at Film City and sometimes the actresses have to share rooms. Ishaa feels she is on a higher plane and doesn't need to share rooms with lesser mortals. The outfits are never to Ishaa's liking so she always complains about them."

Chunky Pandey, who features in the film, states that he is unaware about Ishaa's tantrums as he is not cast opposite her. But Chunky mentions that "once when Celina, Ishaa, Gul and I had to shoot a song together, Ishaa kept us waiting for four hours. She claimed she was stuck in a traffic jam because of a rally in Shivaji Park.

Celina was upset as she had to go for another shoot. But I have no issues with Ishaa, having worked with her in Ramu's D Company. We have always shared a great chemistry." Chunky feels such tantrums and fights are bound to happen on the sets where there are three heroines. He says, "This kind of insecurity and fighting over vans and costumes are bound to happen when you have three leading ladies. Each one will try to dominate the other. I pity poor Javed - he's not only opposite Ishaa but also has scenes with each of the girls."

Ishaa says, "Who has been telling you these things? It's not true. Other actors also come late and not just me. Neither do I throw tantrums. I share a fabulous rapport with Celina and Gul so I don't think they would spread such rumours. Maybe the buzz has arisen because I am shooting simultaneously shooting for Sooraj's film and Hello Darling and attend shows and events. I am stretched for time. As for asking for single vans, I have my own van I travel in."

Ishaa insists that we talk to Hello Darling director Manoj Tiwari and Manoj is quick to jump to Ishaa's defence. He says, "Far from throwing tantrums, Ishaa has been most co-operative. She was in Ahmedabad the whole night and reported for shooting in the morning yesterday. She has even adjusted her time with Sooraj's film and has given us February 19 to shoot for a half shift. There is no tension on the sets."
